Liza is a theatre and opera director, writer, librettist, singer, dancer, educator, and Dora Award – winning actor who has spent the past 36 years working in the theatre. Liza’s work as an actor has included productions at the National Arts Centre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Theatre Rusticle, Belfry Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, PTE, Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, Persephone Theatre, Blyth Festival, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Elgin /Winter Garden, Thousand Islands Playhouse, The Kennedy Centre, Wash. DC and Theatre for the New City (NYC).

With arc: Pomona and the arc/Theatre Smash/Canadianstage KISS. Her most recent film and TV work includes Atom Egoyan’s feature film, REMEMBER, the U.S. mini-series After Camelot and the upcoming Rising Suns. Liza’s recent directing work includes productions with Koerner Hall, the COC, Lighthouse Festival Theatre, Royal Conservatory of Music, Bicycle Opera, Buddies in Bad Times, among many others. Liza has been a resident artist at The Theatre Centre, where she developed her documentary project Out the Window. She directed a limited run of the show in 2012, which starred RH Thomson, David Ferry and Julie Tepperman.

In 2018 it will be produced for Luminato as the inaugural partnership between The Theatre Centre and Luminato. Her work as a librettist in the opera and musical genres has been produced in Toronto, Nova Scotia, Vermont and New York City. Liza has been a guest artist/instructor at the University of Windsor, Royal Conservatory of Music, Randolph Academy of Performing Arts, Wilfred Laurier University, Canadian College of Performing Arts, and The Birmingham Conservatory at the Stratford Festival. She was recently invited into the 2017-2019 Canadianstage /York MFA in Directing Graduate Studies Program.
